Westport Middle School's math team, led by Mr. Jack Egan, wins the Massasoit Mathematics League championship. The team was started three years ago by Mr. Egan. The first year it came in third, the second year it came in second and this year it won the championship. For more information and to see the Herald News write up click here.

In addition to the fundraisers that are sent home with students the WMSA has many ongoing fundraisers that just require a little time and effort on your part.

By collecting and turning in Cambells Soup Labels, General Mills Box Tops, Capri Sun drink pouches, Lees Receipts and Shaws Receipts the WMSA will receive additional funding from the store or manufacturer.

WMSA will be sponsoring a "Lees Receipt House Competition." Students are asked to bring Lees receipts into homeroom from Nov 1st until the Thanksgiving break. Last year over $1800.00 was raised through the Lees Receipts program.

New this year is the Stop and Shop A+ Bonus Bucks. Simply go to www.stopandshop.com/aplus to register your Stop & Shop Card number or call (877) 275-2578 and WMSA will earn cash on your purchases. This program will run from October 9, 2009 thru March 25, 2010.

Encourage family and friends to help in collecting labels, boxtops, receipts etc to benefit your childs school.

WMSA Meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm in the Middle School Cafeteria.

Movie & Dance Nights

Movie (5th graders) & Dance Nights (6th, 7th & 8th graders only) are scheduled once a month, on a Friday from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, during the school year.

Tickets are $5.00 ($4.00 if you joined WMSA) per student and are sold Thursday and Friday during lunch.
Tickets are not sold at the door.

DirectTV for Schools Fundraiser

The Westport Middle School Association has enrolled in the DIRECTV4Schools™ fundraising program again for the 2009-2010 school year. Through DIRECTV4Schools™, the school will receive a cash contribution for every new, existing or returning DIRECTV customer who commits to a year of DIRECTV satellite television service using our school code.

To participate, simply call 1-888-388-4724, use the school code, B1862 and sign up for DIRECTV today. The school will receive $100 for each new customer who orders and activates DIRECTV service and $50 for existing or returning customers who extend their current commitment to DIRECTV for one year.

Thanks to those who participated last school year $750.00 was raised through the program.
