WBTB ANNOUNCES DINNER MEETING

 

Westport Business to Business will be holding their November general meeting on Thursday, Nov. 20th, at 6:00 pm at the Westport Council on Aging, 75 Reed Road. Mary Ellen Gomes, director of the COA, will discribe the activities and programs offered at the COA.
 
Guest speakers are Charlie and Wayne from Sticks, Stones, Stars, Stones, 782 Main Road who represent more than 20 artisians in the greater Westport area. Several of the artisians will attend along their wares. Wayne will also do a pottery demonstration.
 
The meeting is open to WBTB members, non-members, and anyone interested in learning more about the WBTB, WCOA and Sticks, Stones and Stars. The dinner is being catered by Brantel's Restaurant of Tiverton. Food Drive to Benefit Veterans  


Westport American Legion Post #145 and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 207 are organizing a food drive on Nov. 21-23 to benefit the Bristol County Veterans Food Pantry in Fall River.

Post #145, located at 489 Sanford Road will be open on each day from 8 am to 5 pm collecting nutritious non-perishable food and canned goods.

The Westport Family Medicine Center, 829 Main Road, is holding a "Teddy Bear Clinic" on Saturday, November 22, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Children ages 3 to 7 years old are encouraged to bring a Teddy Bear or Favorite Stuffed Animal for a "Well Care Visit." For more information call 508-636-5101.

A Tribute to the Trans Siberian Orchestra


"Ornament," a rock orchestra specializing in a Tribute to the TransSiberian Orchestra. The story is heart warming and the music is phenonemal.

This year as a special treat, some members of the middle school chorus are performing in the show. And Westport's own Middle School band teacher, Chris Nunes is a member of the band. This performance will take place on Friday, December 5th, at 7:00 at Westport High School.

Tickets are 10.00 for adults, 7.00 for students and seniors if purchased before December 5th . All tickets sold at the door will be 10.00. Call Denise Weaver at 508-636-1335 or Chris Nunes at 508-636-1090.           

There will be snacks and beverages sold during intermission. If you would like to donate an item please contact Denise Weaver. All proceeds from this performance benefit the Westport Music Boosters who support the music programs in all four Westport schools.
